To advance the development of developmental and comparative immunology in China, strengthen collaborative exchanges in this field across Asia, and promote theoretical innovation and technological breakthroughs, the Third Asian Congress of Developmental and Comparative Immunology was held in Guangzhou, China, on October 31, 2025. The congress was organized by the Asian Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology (ASDCI), hosted by Huazhong Agricultural University, and co-hosted by our university. The event attracted over 400 delegates from nearly 50 research institutions both domestically and internationally. Distinguished international experts were invited to attend and deliver plenary lectures, including Professor Kenneth Söderhäll from Uppsala University, Sweden, a renowned expert in invertebrate immunology and Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Developmental and Comparative Immunology, Professor Geert F. Wiegertjes from Wageningen University, the Netherlands, Secretary of the International Society of Developmental and Comparative Immunology, Professor Yongliang Zhang from the National University of Singapore, Professor Anlong Xu from Sun Yat-sen University, and other prominent scholars from China and abroad.
The congress featured thematic sessions on the evolution and origins of immune systems, innate immunity, adaptive immunity and vaccines, ecological immunology, and immunometabolism. The scientific program comprised 9 plenary lectures, 15 invited presentations, and over 70 presentations by young scholars and graduate students. The successful convening of this congress further promoted exchange and collaboration between Chinese researchers in the field of immunology and their international counterparts, enhancing China's international influence in this academic domain.
